Charlotte "Charlie" Hunt
23 Winter 10 Female Unemployed Drifter Wolf Shifter [Uncontrolled] Hetrosexual |
LOYAL | LONELY | STUBBORN | SENSITIVE |
Appearance
Charlie is by no means plain looking. The stark contrast between her dark skin tone and blue eyes often draws the attention of those around her. Add to that her considerable height and Charlie is seen as a unique beauty. Furthermore her style of clothing is teetering on dull and unappealing, preferring function over fashion. The life that Charlie leads require her to be comfortable and not fret over what is the hottest look. She is far more comfortable in jeans, shirt, jacket and her favorite red scarf carefully tied. Her hair style hasn't changed since her early teens, short to her ears and a bit wild. Charlie prefers this style for it's simplicity and ease of care. Comfort is her style.
Personality
Early in her life Charlie was wild and loud, playing with friends and always being the hero but in recent years it has shifted. She doesn't see herself as a hero anymore but she will still stand up for her friends. Loyal almost to a fault, Charlie has given more punches in defense of her friends then they have for her. Not only she is willing to do anything for them, but also thinking of herself last has become second nature. Charlie's own thoughts about her loyalty is mixed. She is sometimes aware when she is being taken for granted but can't find the strength within herself to put an end to it. Recent events have also encouraged an expression of her loner trait. Despite wanting to be loyal and rested by her friends, Charlie finds it difficult now to actually be around them. She isn't comfortable with who she is and finds it very difficult to connect. Resulting in her often declining to do anything with a group of two or more. However this display will not counter her loyalty.
In slight contrast are her two remaining personality traits. Stubborn again to an almost faults, Charlie has difficulty letting something go. Meanwhile she is ultra-sensitive to judgments she gets from others, often feeding in her desire to be overly-loyal. Charlie is in an almost constant struggle with herself about who she is and what she means to others, making her a storm cloud on the best of days.

History & Power
Charlie's first memories are of her father tugging her along the mountain path. He laughed with her before scooping her up and carrying her on his shoulders. Giggles were loud and free in that time. All her early memories are of her father in the woods while he busied himself whatever it was he did as a job. At such a young age Charlie hadn't noticed she was supposed to have a mom, it didn't matter to her that she didn't.
However, happiness is just a reprieve for the pain to come. Charlie had been playing in the woods near their home, father made her promise not to go too far. Yet pulling along her stuff bear, Charlie wanted to see if she could pick some flowers but the pretty ones were deeper in the woods near the big tree. She held tight to Patches the bear, braving the slight prickle of anxiety until she found them, but something else found her. A mountain lion that decided a small child was an easy meal attempted to grab the girl, but something within Charlie woke up. A fierce growl escaped as she tried to escape the lion, but it was quicker than her. Wishing she could run faster, Charlie hadn't noticed she was running on all fours and nearly home. Calling out to her Papa, she was surprised to see him come toward her but stop dead in his tracks. Fear in his eyes as she hurried to him.
For a split second Charlie was confused, why hadn't Papa picked her up. Her confusion turned to tears as she howled for his attention, realizing that words weren't coming out. Finally snapping out of his daze, Papa scooped her up and did his best to calm his daughter until she returned to herself. The incident was forgotten and never spoke of again.
Years later Charlie had grown a bit and was attempting to do something reckless. A nearby river had frozen over and a couple of her friends wanted to ice skate. Charlie quickly agreed and set out with them all. They skated without any issues until the sunset and everyone started to make their way home. Charlie decided she was going to stay out a bit later and watch the stars come out, her friends left her beyond at her request. The forest changed and sounds started to add to the prickle of anxiety that she was feeling. No longer willing to stay and wait for the stars, Charlie attempted to hurry home. The fear that something was lurking in the shadows had her wishing she could run faster and just like before she was on all fours again, running home. This time she was more aware of what was going on. In her panic she had shapeshifted into a wolf, black like her hair with the same blue eyes. Confused and upset Charlie tried to get out of her new form but couldn't seem to do so. It wasn't until she was whining at the door to her house and her Papa ventured outside to see what was wrong that she managed to calm down. He finally decided to sit his daughter down and explain what happened when she was young and that his 'power' was out of her controlled. She needed to learn to control her fear or else she'd mistreated.
Charlie for the next couple of years struggle with it. Bouts of her shifting often scared her and furthered her dislike of her ability. She never bothered to learn how to control it and often shied away from situations that might make her scared. She avoided it all. Around the age of twenty her father past away in his sleep, the house he left behind for her, but she didn't want it. Instead she sold it and pocketed the money, decided she was going to do her own thing. She travelled down to the port city and found a new life there. Everything was okay until she met him.
Jace was his name. He was from the big city and praised her for her beauty. They hit it off and Charlie fell fast and hard. However, like always happiness was short lived for Charlie. One day Jace decided to play a prank on Charlie. It was truly harmless, just jumping out from behind a corner but that was all it took. Charlie in her panic shifted, Jace screamed in terror, calling her a monster. Charlie panicked further which came out as a growl unable to control herself. Jace in a fit of anger and his own fear attempted to push her out of the house using a broom. Feeling like garbage, Charlie ran out of his house and onto the street. She slept in an alley until the panic in her chest subsided and she was able to return to normal. Charlie went back to her own apartment and gathered up her things. She didn't feel wanted in the city anymore and decided to return to her hometown. Charlie doesn't know what to expect but she knows it's better than what she is leaving behind.
