Henry Edward Warren
21 Summer 14 Male Dock Worker Atora Human Hetrosexual |
Humble | Honest | Hardworking | Honorable |
Appearance
Henry has never made waves when it came to his looks. Medium brown hair and odd purple eyes, Henry never turned any heads. Most likely because he often has the smell of the ocean permanently attached to his skin. Not everyone likes the smell of fish and while he is used to it by now, he knows people turn their heads when he walks their way. His life working at the docks and moving shipments has given him a strong and fit body. Henry prefers the simple things in life, wearing a suit only two times in his life. One for his uncle's wedding and a fancy sparkling suit for some pageant where he escorted the contestants. (He did it as a favor for a co-worker). Henry doesn't consider himself attractive but he does his best to keep his hair tidy. A slight fade with a longer top, nothing too extreme. The only thing 'extreme' about Henry's appearance is the tattoo that covers his left arm. A ocean storm scene with an old ship take up the expanse of skin. He shows it off by wearing short sleeve at work. The tattoo itself was a dare but he has grown to love it.
Personality
Henry has always been a humble young man. He takes praise with difficulty and often tries to give it to someone else. He doesn't want to be a hero and is pretty content with being seen as a 'good guy' even if that means he is overlooked. Henry's humility has made it pretty easy to make friends. He isn't arrogant and doesn't brag about what he has. Henry can easily make friends at work and after when he goes out for a drink. He actually enjoys getting to know people, given his profession he often gets to meet a variety of people. The ease in which Henry makes friends has kept him honest. To him there is no point lying about something, it just means you have to remember more. He prefers to be upfront with everyone, which has led to a few awkward situations. One time a girl asked if he liked her, Henry being who he is told her 'no' with little softness. From then on he tried to gauge his honest to maybe add a few sweet words to make the truth easier to take.
Being an honest young man as proved to be great for his work life. People trust him with a lot and Henry takes on the responsibility with ease. Hardworking to a fault, Henry isn't afraid to work well past his time if it means the job is done on time. There have been plenty of moments when Henry came home and crashed before making it to his bed.
With his honesty and humility, Henry considers himself an honorable man. He treats everyone he meets with respect and goes out of his way to help people who need it. Henry doesn't like liars or cheaters but he does do his best to treat them with respect at the very least. Henry has an almost fantasy-like wonder about love and romance, making him almost hopeless. His co-workers tease him but he takes it in stride easily.
One major flaw to Henry's overall personality is how quickly he makes someone's problem is own. If he sees someone in need of help he is offering it before they can ask. Henry just wants people to be happy even if that means getting himself into some trouble for being too forward.

History
Henry's parents weren't married when he was conceived and born. His mother was Anna Warren and his father Benjamin Scott. The two were young but while Anna would never say it was a mistake, Henry wasn't exactly a 'planned' baby. By the time Anna knew she was expecting, Benjamin had moved away. Anna accepted being a single parent and enlisted the help of her brother Arthur to help her out. Henry was born that summer, a very happy and easy baby.
Early childhood was spent chasing after his uncle and learning all about the ocean. Arthur was a fishermen and often went out to bring home for Henry and his mother. They young boy loved everything about the ocean and often tried to sneak out onto the boat with his uncle only to be scolded and sent back to his mother.
By the time he turned sixteen Henry was finally given permission to join his uncle when he fished. Henry was tempted to drop out of school and make it a full-time career but Anna was very strict that Henry needed to finish school. Just before turning seventeen a man came to the docks as Henry and Arthur were emptying the boat and asked if Anna Warren was still around. Henry explained to the stranger that she was his mother. That was the first time Henry meet his father.
It took some adjusting but Henry finally stopped glaring long enough to listen to his father talk and explain what happened. It was a long story and Henry didn't try to remember it. Instead he focused on the fact that Ben was back and wanted to have a relationship with Henry and Anna again. He knew that he missed out on seventeen years but at the same time Ben didn't know Henry was alive for a long time. (Turns out Anna wrote to Ben on Henry's tenth birthday telling the man he had a son, so it was Ben's choice to remain gone for an extra seven).
Henry has recently moved out on his own, getting an apartment and working full time at the docks. Ben and Anna have rekindled their relationship but Henry hasn't spent much time with his father, preferring to keep him at arm's length.
