| ▶ | It took hours just to convince her parents to allow her to wander around the mountains by herself. Narin was rarely allowed alone time outside of Eriden, making this another small victory for her. Going to the mountains meant she was able to transform into her wyvern form.
Feeling the wind beneath her wings was like a breath of fresh air after being cooped up in a cramped room. As long as she stayed away from the traveler's path through the mountains, Narin could fly anywhere she pleased. This was what freedom felt like.
Narin landed in the forestry near the mountain's base just a mile away from Eriden's mountain entrance, where she decided to play for exercise. Playing as a wyvern was just as fun. She could play for hours and not feel exhausted unlike her human form. She chased a few small critters, but never caught them. She didn't want to eat them raw (and would rather not try it). There was rustling in the greenery behind her, signaling her to stay alert. Her eyes were fixated on that one particular spot, waiting for something to pop out. |

Venom had been out in the forest all day, coming back and forth between his spot and his house on the outskirts of the town. He’d been growing low on his stock of wood so he’d had to rather unwilling come out to harvest more but both the cutting down a tree and slowly dragging it back to his house piece by piece was immensely tiring. Sure he was fairly fit but doing it all alone with nothing more than a drag-along cart to help didn’t make it easy. By the time he’d dropped off the final load at his house and come back for the last time, his entire body was aching.
Sighing, he idly flicked the hair covering his left eye as he moved away from the stump he’d just been working. Once he’d found a good spot, Venom crouched down. He quickly went about digging a decent sized hole before placing an acorn in and then covering it back over with the soil. He grabbed the water bottle he’d brought back with him and poured it over the patch of soil. He’d have to keep coming back to check on it but at least the hard part was over for now.
He’d always do this whenever he had to replenish his stock. Each time he’d come to a new part of the forest and replant a tree when he was done. Sure he needed the wood but leaving the forest barren was never something he wanted to do or be the cause of.
Once he was done, Venom got back to his feet before heading back over to the stump and taking a seat. He grumbled to himself as he tried to brush the dirt off of his hands.
The faint sound of beating wings got him to glance up to the sky, eyebrows knitting together as he tried to place the exact location of the sound. Eventually the sound of whatever it was landing rang through the area.
Venom tilted his head, ears twitching slightly before he sighed heavily and got to his feet somewhat reluctantly. He’d never admit it but he was kind of curious as to what was around.
It took him a while to make it to where what or whoever it was and he ended up coming to them sooner than he’d have thought. He froze for a second upon seeing the wyvern though he snapped out of it fairly quickly, simply raising his visible eyebrow in what seemed like boredom. “Huh…” As he kept to himself as much as possible he only had a vague idea to as what exactly a wyvern was though their appearance did seem to speak for itself. He didn’t speak again, just kept a close eye on the wyvern as he waited to see if they were going to be aggressive or not.
